Project Introduction

The XinYuexi Tunnel is located within the Ganluo and Yuexi counties of Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, and is 6218 meters long. This tunnel was one of the most challenging aspects of the Chengdu-Kunming Railway double-tracking project, with construction lasting over seven years. The XinYuexi Tunnel traverses geological faults and multiple strata, encountering various geological hazards during construction, including water inrush, mud rushes, rock bursts, high ground temperatures, and collapses; therefore, it has been called a "Geological Museum".
